Mrs. Martha McRae went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Columbia, SC.
The family will receive visitors at the home of Mr. Joe Coleman, 101 Hardridge Lane, Dothan, AL (334) 702-3514. Visitation will be Friday, 4-6 PM, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 12:30 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2017, Dothan Community Church, 4390 Westgate Pkwy, Dothan, AL. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Dothan, AL.

Mrs. Martha L. Coleman McRae (Punkin) was born to the late Willie Coleman and Annie Lee Coleman on October 4, 1948 in Houston County. After a long battle with illness Martha became absent from the body to be present  with the Lord on December 2, 2017 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Columbia, SC.

Martha is among the retired saints of Gods. She was a faithful, loving giving servant and a born again Christian. Martha graduated from Carver High School class of 1966. At a very early age Martha began her young life at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Later in life she transitioned to become supervisor for many years at Akwell, now known as Ansell. Finally in 1983 she returned to Southeast Alabama Medical Center to retire as Dietary Manager. She received her certification in Dietary Management, from Auburn University, and finished a wonderful career until retirement in 2003. Martha was a active member of Acts Church in Dothan, Alabama, then later she became a active member of Dothan Community Church where she remained a member under Dr. W. Charles Lewis. She was happily married to the love of her life the late Harold Edward McRae (Papa) until his death on December 24, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie Coleman and Annie Lee Coleman; sister: Bettye Jean Reese.

She leaves to cherish and celebrate her life her beloved daughter: Tracy (O’Shawn) McClendon of Columbia, SC; a step daughter: Erica (Anthony) Brinker of Colorado Springs, CO; step son: Terrance McRae of Vicenza, Italy; her grandsons: O’Shawn McClendon, Jr. of Columbia, SC, Brian McClendon of LaGrange, GA and Joshua Brinker of Colorado Springs, CO; her brothers: Willie Coleman of Dothan, AL, Joe Lee (Ineathia) Coleman, Johnny Coleman of Montgomery, AL and James (Kathy) Coleman of Dothan, AL; brother-in-law: John Reese of Dothan, AL; her nieces: Pam Coleman, Tameka Johns, Tammy Coleman of Dothan, AL, Charlene (Alvin) Ray of Buford, GA, Valdary (Jerry) Whitehurst of Montgomery, AL and Toni (David) Madden of Kent, WA; nephews: Stan (Monique) Reese of Montgomery, AL, Joel Coleman of Salt Lake City, Utah and Devis (Nette) Coleman of Montgomery, AL; aunts: Nina (Thomas) Jones of Miami, FL, Gladys Coleman of Dothan, AL; cousins like a sister: LaQuita Joyce Hollis and Johnny Coleman of Dothan, AL; god daughters: Deondra Smith of Slocomb, AL and Annette Tobie of Dothan, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
