Willie Frank Crews, a spirited and loving man whose hands were as skilled as his heart was generous, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 20, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 10, 1946, in Alabama, Willie Frank was the cherished son of the late Robert and Rosie Lee West Crews. His presence was a gift to those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
A testament to the value of hard work and dedication, Willie dedicated himself to a career that required both skill and precision. He excelled as a renovation and maintenance technician, a trade that called upon his handy nature and allowed him to touch the lives of many through his craft. Willie Frank's love for his work was only matched by his devotion to his faith, and he was a proud and active member of First Baptist Church in Newville, Alabama.
Raised in Henry County, Willie Frank was an alumnus of Northside School, where he received his education. Throughout his life, he carried the lessons learned in those early years, cultivating a spirit of perseverance and a compassionate nature.
Family was the cornerstone of Willie Frank's world. He delighted in the accomplishments of his children and found joy in the simple pleasure of being together with his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy that will live on through his three children: Willie Frank Crews, Jr. (Mitz), Melissa (Cedric) Newson, and Teresa (Terrance) Davis, all of Dothan, Alabama; his stepdaughter Tameka Jackson; his siblings, Edward Charles (Carolyn) Crews, Mary Frances Pittman, and Mae Catherine Crews. His memory will also be cherished by his two grandchildren, Braxton Crews and Terrance Newman; along with a constellation of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched.
Willie Frank Crews was the embodiment of a life well-lived. His spirited demeanor, loving nature, and adept hands transformed every endeavor into an extension of his warmth and passion. We honor his memory by celebrating the wonderful moments shared and the wisdom imparted to us through his journey on this earth.
