Willie Bynum Life and Times

Willie Earl Bynum, affectionately known as Earl, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 9, 2023, in his hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Born on January 22, 1956, Earl was a cherished member of the community, a dedicated family man, and a passionate musician.

 

Earl was predeceased by his parents, Edward C. Sr., and Louise Bynum. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra, their sons, Justin and Jaron, his brothers, Edward C. Bynum, Jr. (Deloris) and Dr. Kenneth Bynum (Robin), and his cousin-sister, Carol. Earl also leaves behind two nieces, four grandchildren, and a host of cousins, other relatives, friends, as well as his church and music family.

 

Earl was a man of great intellect, having graduated from high school and attended junior college. He furthered his education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master's Degree in Counseling. His dedication to education led him to a fulfilling career at Wallace Community College and Sparta-Eufaula Campus, from which he retired. His colleagues remember him as a wise and creative individual who always strived to make a positive impact on his students.

 

Earl followed his passion for music, becoming a beloved member of the 225 Uptown Band. His creative spirit shone through his musical endeavors, and he was known for bringing joy and rhythm to every gathering. His adventurous nature also led him to enjoy cooking exotic dishes and exploring the open road on his motorcycle. 

 

Many will remember Earl as a creative soul who loved to explore new experiences. He was adventurous, always seeking out new opportunities for growth and enjoyment. His wisdom was a guiding light for many in the community, and his creative spirit inspired those around him. 

 

Earl will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of wisdom, creativity, and adventure will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the community he so dearly loved. Rest in peace, Earl. Your melody will continue to play in our hearts.
