Walter Simons, Jr

Mr. Walter Simons, Jr., age 82, of Notasulga, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 AM at Perote Cemetery in Union Springs, Alabama.

Walter Simons, Jr. was born November 28, 1938 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  The second of five children born to Walter Simons, Sr. and Carrietta Spruill Simons.

He was a dedicated nurse, caring for patients, in the Veterans Administration Hospital systems for over 39 years.

Walter developed a love for working with wood and created many pieces of custom made furniture.  He was always willing to use his talents to make life better for others.  All you had to do was call and he was on his way.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Alberta J. Simons; daughter: Doniece Dudley; and brother: Gene Simons.

Left with saddened hearts, but also gratitude for him being in our lives, are his daughter: Ramona (Hobson) Cox; son: Silas (Karen) Crawford, Jr.; grandson: Charles Dudley; granddaughters: Chaurice (Michael) Greer and Arcola Mallard; sister: Lauretta Marie Simons; brother: James (Margaret) Simons and Lloyd Simons.  He was the beloved Paw Paw to great grandchildren: Chadwic Foster, Javier Dudley, Arrian Mallard, Zhamia Mallard, Lia Rogers, and great great granson: Ayden Foster.  He will be missed by his sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Our lives will forever be blessed by his love and guidance.
