She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Fred Alexander and from that union one child was born, Linda Scott, whom she adored and cared for. If you saw her, you saw her daughter. They were the best of friends and enjoyed life together. She later married Eddie Turner who was a great husband, stepfather, and grandfather.
She was affectionately known, by her immediate family, as "Sister" and her grandchildren as "Mama Lee". Her loved ones could talk to her when they couldn't talk to anyone else. She always had sound advice and was full of wisdom.
Her Christian ministry began at an early age at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama; she also was a faithful member of Jackson Chapel COGIC in Caps, Alabama.
She married Rev. John E. Jones, and served faithfully beside him in the ministry for many years.
Later, she joined Dothan Tabernacle COGIC, where her Christian work continued. she was the president of the Mother's Ministry, the president of the Mission Dept., sung on the praise team, taught Sunday School, and did whatever her hands found to do.
She was also a dedicated and faithful member of New Season's singing ministry.
Mother Jones loved the Lord more than anything in this world. It didn't matter who you were or where she was, she shared the good news of Jesus Christ. She loved her life and being around others. She had the best sense of humor and loved to make others laugh.
She was an amazing floral designer. She was very passionate about her work and took great pride in each arrangement. She was recognized in the newspaper for being Dothan's No. 1 floral designer.
