Vanessa Horace was born on November 6, 1955, to the late Jethro Sr. and Christine Nelloms in Atlanta, Georgia .
She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1973 and Atlanta Area Technical School. She worked for Atlanta Linen Services for over 10 years, she did domestic service for several years for several families, became an Avon Representative and Travel Coordinator. Vanessa favorite quote “I’m a go getter”. She love to travel with family and friend. Her passion was for Senior she was their caregiver, traveler and fun raiser coordinator.
Mother loved the Lord. She loved her Pastor & church family. She was a faithful church member. Her life was one of love, laughter and enjoying what she desired to eat. She was a faithful member of Troy Street Baptist Church, River of Life Christian Center and New Image Missionary Baptist Church all in Atlanta, GA, Bethlehem Temple COGIC, Bellwood, AL and Oasis Worship Center, Dothan, AL .
Mother Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Cynthia Arnold and Theresa Billingsley, one brother: Jethro Nelloms Jr., one sisters-in-law Darlene Horace, three brothers-in law Charles Arnold, Jimmy Horace and Larry Middlebrooks.
Vanessa Nelloms Horace 70, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on December 1, 2025, at Southeast Health Medical Center Dothan AL.
Mother Vanessa Horace to cherish her precious memories her loving and devoted husband: Phillip Horace of 40 years in marriage; three sisters: Rudine Ervin, Veronica Middlebrooks and Edith (Juan) Wilson; one brother: Kenneth Nelloms. She had deep love and a special relationship with her God-daughter: Mother Sharon Black who was an exceptional caregiver to her during her long-term illness. As a daughter whom she raised as her own: Sonya Danielly; Five brothers in law: Rodger (Patsey) Horace, Chancellor, AL, Steve (Rhonda) Horace Harford, AL , George Horace, Willie Mack Horace , Chancellor, AL and Willie Horace of Colorado; three sisters-in-law: Patrisse Nelloms, Annie Morris and Princess Pearson, special recognition her niece Latonya Middlebrooks guardian over their affairs; nephews, nieces, cousins , host of other relatives and friends who will treasure her memories.
