Mrs. Tressie Mae Streeter, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the age of 88.
Walk through visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4-6PM at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 12 Noon at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church; 1100 Allen Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303; with burial immediately following at Gates of Heaven Cemetery; 2106 Starling Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303 under the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".
Mrs. Tressie Mae Streeter was born on April 16, 1933, to the late James Ezell Brown and the late Mary Bell Safford, in Abbeville, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church until her resting day.
If you knew Tressie, you couldn't help but to love her. She was loving, kind, and had a sense of humor you wouldn't soon forget. More importantly, she loved her family especially her five girls. She made sure they had not only what they needed but most of the things they wanted.
She was an awesome cook and in fact, owned her own cafe, "Little Savoy Cafe". Prior to her retirement, she worked for Sony Magnetics and Hazel Hurst Laundry.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Ezell (Orrie) Brown and Mary Bell (John A.) Glover-Brown-Saffold; her "forever" husband: Master Sergeant Chester Streeter; her loving daughter: Mary E. Hollis; a praying granddaughter: Tiffany L. Hollis; her loving grandson: Rashad K. Streeter; her brothers: Willie Brown, Tommy Brown, Joe-Nathan Brown, Whitter Saffold, and Henry "Black" Safford; and her sisters: Mary Gibson and Johnnie Mae Sherryll.
Continuing to celebrate her life, she leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughters: Blanche (Byron) Alford, Brenda (Robert) Streeter Henry, Tammi (Mark) Breymeyer, and Nicole (Eulas) Black; her loving sisters: Elizabeth Branch, Lorene Saffold, Sarah (Leroy) Alford, and Joan (Charles) Wilcox; her loving brothers: Johnnie (Earnestine) Saffold, and Mechell (Theresa) Saffold; her granddaughters: Teadrian Hollis, Tamina Hollis, and Alexia Smith; her grandsons: Davian Smith, LaKendric Streeter, LaDarrian (Kathi) Smith, Jamian Smith, Nicholas (Willtresca) Streeter, and Joshua Black; 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, two special cousins: Annie Francis Carter and Johnnie B. Hollis, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
