Brother Tony Lamar Anderson was born in Houston County, Alabama on August 8, 1957 to the late James Anderson and the late Catherine Johnson. He was the youngest son of the family.
He was converted at an early age and joined Mount Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dothan, Alabama where he song in the church choir. He love music. Tony attended Dothan City School where he play in the band and was a member of ROTC. He join Canaan Land Missionary Baptist Church under Leadership of Pastor Christopher Scott in Madrid, Alabama.
After finish school meet his wife Ruby J. Godwin who was his heart. Tony work very hard and later years he became sick never come back to that young man who love to travel go out to eat. He was a loving husband, great father and awesome grandfather who love his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James Anderson, Catherine Johnson and Lessie Brewer; his brothers: Jimmy Johnson, Lorenzo Gordon, and Johnny Gordon; his sisters: Elaine Anderson and Annette Gordon; one sister-in-law: Catherine Godwin.
He departed this life on January 14, 2024 at Flowers Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories by his loving wife and love of his life of forty-five years: Ruby J. Anderson I will never forget you; three sons: Gary, Jason and Anthony (Sonia); grandchildren: Logan (Tyson), Jayce, Christiana, Jessie, Jayven (Reagan), and Jazmin; great grands: Karsyn and Ivy; brothers: James Anderson, Johnny Anderson and Bobbie Anderson; his sisters: Clara Martin and Robbie Anderson and Catherine Grubbs; a special nephew who was raise as a little brother: Oshon Anderson; sister-in-law: Gerlean Johsnon, Johnnie Mae, Jacqueline Glover, Barbara Williams, Henerritta Ward and Gloria Godwin; brother-in-law: Tommy Martin, Jerry Godwin, Karey Godwin, Willie Ward, Edward Williams; uncles: Jimmy Godwin, Eddie Godwin; aunts: Patricia McCree, Mary E. Godwin, Cora Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A special thanks to St. John AME Church family and Revered B. Hudson and A. Hudson.
