Tommie L. Turner, Jr. was born on October 1, 1953, to the late Tommie L. Turner and Fronnie M. Tyson Turner in Dothan, Alabama.
Tommie was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and was a member of the Male Chorus. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1972 and Wallace Community College in 1977 with an Associate Degree in Arts.
Tommie’s employment span Dothan Transportation System (Bus Operator), Borden’s Meadow Gold Dairies (Production Sanitation Supervisor), General Electric (Stock Clerk) and the Army Fleet Support (Aircraft Mechanic). Tommie had a passion for photography. He took pride in the accomplishments of his children and was ‘grandfatherly’ proud of Caleb who called him “Poppy”.
He passed away on January 5, 2023, at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Alabama
Tommie was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife: Mary Jean Jackson Turner; his parents and sibling: Doris Jean Turner.
Tommie leaves to cherish his memories; daughter: Consquelo Daniaul Turner and son: Tommy Turner; grandson, Caleb Scott Turner; siblings: Billy (Gail) Turner, Henry Turner, Beverlye Watten and Carol Tillman; Brother-in-law: Sonny Flowers; sister-in-law: Edna G. Jackson and Sarah (Harvey) N. Knight and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
