Ms. Shirley Bryant, age 67, of Webb, Alabama passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2 PM at Georgette L. Scott's Memorial Chapel, 814 Headland Avenue Dothan, Alabama 36303.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Ms. Shirley Bryant was born October 25, 1952 to the late Joe and Irene Greayer in Dothan, Alabama.
At an early age, Shirley attended Stringer Street AME Church in Dothan, Alabama. She was also part of Carver High School Class of 71. She was married to Robert Bryant; to this union, one daughter and one son were born.
She moved back home in 1993. She worked at Sears for 15 years until Sears closed. Shortly after Sears closed, she started to have some health issues. She had cataract surgery in 2015; afterwards, she became legally blind and disabled. However, through it all , she was still a strong woman. Shirley traveled with her daughter and granddaughter to school activities, in spite of it all. She lived her life happily. She was known by some of her friends as "baby". She loved to go shopping and spending time with her family. On February 11, 2020, she was given the heartbreaking news of having stage 4 cancer.
Shirley departed this life on February 26, 2020 with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a niece and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving daughter: Ronda (Mark) Ward of Webb, Alabama; son: Bobby (Jammie) Bryant of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters: Fantasia Miller of Ozark, Alabama and Naomi Bryant of San Antonio, Texas; one sister: Annie P. Pearson of Chicago, Illinois; "Play" sisters: Nancy Reed and Barbara Jackson of Dothan, Alabama; best friends: Sue Martin and Teresa Register of Dothan, Alabama; her military families are in San Antonio, Texas, Eglin AFB, Florida, Virginia, Ohio and lastly Valdosta, Georgia. She had a special friend: Bobby Forsythe of Dothan, Alabama and God son: Jason Adams of Virginia.
