She attended Wallace Community College and graduated in 1982 with her Associate Degree in Nursing. In the early stages of her nursing career, she worked at the Henry County Hospital from 1984-1986 before going on to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama as an LPN from 1982-1984 and again from 1986-2004, until her health forced her to retire. She was proudly honored as the SAMC Nurse of the Year in 202. Sharon was a hardworking, dedicated cardiac nurse who loved her job and cared even more for her patients.
