Sergeant Robert Thompson Life and Times

Robert Earl Thompson, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 65. Born on June 24, 1958, in Alabama, Robert was a cherished son to the late Robbie Mae Thompson and Raymond Thompson. His life was a testament to the virtues of kindness and intelligence, which he embodied in every action and relationship.

Robert's journey through life was marked by the deep bonds he formed with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Kathy Thompson, with whom he shared a love that was the cornerstone of their family. As a loving father, he instilled values of compassion and curiosity in his children, Kim Hill and Kevin Thompson. His guidance and support as a parent were unwavering, and his legacy will live on through them.

The loss of Robert was preceded by the passing of his parents and his siblings, James White, Raymond Pearce, Mary Sue Johnson, and Gracie Mae Lingo, as well as his son-in-law, James Hill, Jr. Despite these profound losses, Robert's strength and resilience never wavered, and he continued to be a source of stability for his loved ones.

Robert's life was further enriched by his sister, Mary Ann (James) Hill, who will hold dear the memories of their shared laughter and moments of reflection. His grandchildren, Kiera Reeves, Keithlan Reeves, Jr., Kiera Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Jr., Brian Goodson, and Kaden Goodson, were the light of his life. He reveled in their accomplishments and adventures, always offering encouragement and pride. The joy of his later years was magnified by the arrival of his great-grandchild, Aria Lanae Tyson, who brought a new spark of happiness into his world.

Beyond his immediate family, Robert's memory will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, loved ones, clients, and co-workers. Each person touched by his presence felt the warmth of his loving nature, and his absence will leave a void in the hearts of many.
