Samantha Marticia Heck, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, passed away on December 16, 2023, in Dothan, Alabama. Born in Virginia on November 15, 1972, Samantha's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of compassion and a dedication to her loved ones.
Samantha spent her formative years in Virginia before her family settled in Alabama, where she would go on to build a life rich in love and community. She was a beacon of light in her family, a beloved daughter to her parents, Bill and Paulette Heck, a supportive sister to Doran (and his wife Ana) and Clay (and his wife Cori), all of North Carolina. Samantha's legacy is carried on through her children, Kristopher, Sierra, and Sammorrah, who remain in Alabama, and her cherished grandchildren, Mekhi Ventris and Simone Williams of Oklahoma. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A proud graduate of Selma High School, Samantha's thirst for knowledge and desire to help others led her to pursue further education at Capps College in Dothan, Alabama. There, she earned her medical assistant certification, a testament to her commitment to caring for those in need. Samantha's professional life was characterized by her gentle demeanor, her skillful hands, and her ability to bring comfort to her patients.
Throughout her life, Samantha was an embodiment of grace and resilience. She faced challenges with a quiet strength and always managed to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her laughter was infectious, her advice was sought after, and her presence was a source of calm in any storm.
In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Samantha's love for her family, her passion for her work, and her kindness towards others have indeed become a part of all who knew her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, even as we mourn her loss.
Samantha's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of devotion, care, and laughter. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her willingness to lend a hand, and her unwavering support of her children and grandchildren. Her influence will live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
As we bid farewell to Samantha Marticia Heck, we do so with the knowledge that her impact on this world was profound and that her memory will be cherished forever. She will be missed, but indeed, she will never be forgotten.
