Most importantly, devoted to her Pentecostal faith. She was hailed as the woman with 'healing hands' which she ministered to many individuals as an active member of the House of Prayer Pentacostal Church.

Her occupation ranged from Food services, domestic housekeeping, and family homemaker for her immediate and extended family. She is affectionately considered the “favorite AUNTIE” by a host of her nieces and nephews. Ruby was also a minister of song and she has performed at many churches over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband: Paul Tharpe; two sisters: Robbie (J.B.) Johnson and Sally Mae Danzey.

She leaves the cherish her precious memories eight children: Terry (Sonia) Tharpe, Sandra Tharpe, Michael (Patricia) Tharpe, Sheron (Michael) Woods, Harvey Tharpe, Ivie Tharpe, Felicia (Bernard) Washington and Paula Tharpe; twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; six brothers: Herman, Frank, Columbus Earl, Jeremiah, June, and Harry Danzey; two sisters: Mary Danzey and Martha Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
