Ruby Jewell Pugh

Ms. Ruby Jewell Pugh was born on April 22, 1947 to Judge Pugh, Sr. and  Jewell Lee Pugh in Newville, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age.

Ruby was a graduate of Albion High School in Albion, New York. She received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Monroe Community College. During her career years, she worked at Eastman Kodak and the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a talented seamstress and avid gardener that loved sunflowers.

She passed away on January 19, 2023.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Earnestine Jackson and her brother, Judge Pugh, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Zedric (Stephanie) Wood of Dothan, Alabama, Willie Wood of  Birmingham, Alabama, and KristyAnne (David) Boyd of Desoto, Texas; siblings: Lillie Salter of Newville, Alabama, Aaron Pugh of Albion, New York, Eudonice (Fred) Rahming of Tavares, Florida, Annie Johnson of Rochester, New York, Carrie Thompson of Brockport, New York, and James Crews of Albion, New York; grandchildren: Brandon Wood of Dothan, Alabama, Devon Jackson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Chasity Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s ® Research Hospital.
