It is with great sadness that we inform you one of the most dedicated employee Ms. Rosie Johnson, age 73 of Union Springs, Alabama on Friday, November 6, 2020. She had been a valued member of our team over several years and will be truly missed. Please keep Rosie Johnson's family and our staff in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this difficult time.
Rosie Johnson was born November 15, 1946 to the Union of James Jordan, Sr. and Rosianna Davis Jordan in Birmingham, AL.
Rosie married James "Bubba" Johnson, and to this union four children were born. Together they ran several family businesses in Union Springs, including Johnson's Grocery, J's Funk Junction, The Cottontail Lounge, BJ's Package Store and BJ's Amusement Center. She also earned an Associate's degree in Accounting from South College and operated Johnson's Bookkeeping & Accounting and was employed at Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary of Dothan and Ozark, Alabama.
Rosie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church in Union Springs, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for the past 11 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Mattie L. Jones and one daughter: Juanita Youngblood.
She departed this life on Friday, November 6, 2020.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Charles (Gwen) Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA; Denise Rodgers of Montgomery, Alabama; Carmella (Kenneth) Penn of Atlanta, Georgia; son-in-law: Charles Youngblood of Union Springs, Alabama; two stepsons: Curtis (Pamela) Johnson of Franklin Park, New Jersey and James (Jannie) Johnson, Milford, New Jersey; two brothers: James (Gerri) Jordan of South Carolina; Robert Jordan of Union Springs, Alabama; one sister: Jannie Andrews of Cleveland, Ohio; a dear friend: Diane Phillips; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a very special brother: Dean Scott and the staff of Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary of Dothan and Ozark, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
