Ronnie Gayle Russell

Ronnie Gayle Russell was born on October 16, 1961, to the late Albert and Betty Chavis in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ronnie Gayle Russell was educated at LaGrange High School and attended Wallace Community College in Eufaula, Alabama, with her daughter. 

At the age of sixteen, Ronnie Gayle accepted Christ at Refuge Temple Ministries and later became a member of New Testament Apostolic Holiness Church in Longville, Louisiana, under Pastor Leon Anderson. In 1998, she relocated to Abbeville, Alabama, and became a member of New Birth Ministries, under Pastor Robert E. Wright. In 2005, she joined No Greater Love Ministries in Newton, Alabama, under Pastor Tyronne S. Leonard Sr.  In 2015, she joined Secret Place of Worship Ministries in Dothan, Alabama, under Pastor John Faulk. Brother Sylvester and Sister Ronnie Gayle Russell did outreach ministry at Henry County Nursing Home in Abbeville, Alabama, and with the sick and shut-in sisters in Christ. 

During her lifetime she was a seamstress, a cook, and a substitute high school teacher. She loved gardening, especially her roses, cooking Cajun food, watching westerns, fishing with her best friends, taking pictures in her hats, and just having fun with her family and friends. She loved her Secret Place of Worship Family and loved her daughters and her Swoodia. When she married her husband, she received five additional children and many grandchildren to love. She set a wonderful example of loving Jesus and being a Christian for her daughters and all her knew her. 
  
She was called home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. She was 62. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Betty Chavis, two sisters, Stephanie Jones and Linda Guillory, and her niece, Sheena Victorian. She leaves behind, to cherish their memories of her: her husband, Sylvester Russell; two daughters, Sharon (Clinton) Thomas and Dieatra (Kavan) Howie, Tiffany Gulledge, Yolanda Russell (Edward Dillard), Neena Bonds; two sons, Sylvester Bone and Christopher Russell; her five sisters, whom she loved dearly, Cynthia Victorian, Kelly (Gerald) Semien, Debra (Robert) Wright, Patricia Coker, and Angela Chavis; and sixteen grandchildren (Charleigh), several great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, church families, and friends.
