Mr. Robert Reynolds, age 74 of Dothan, Alabama passed away Friday, May 8, 2020.
Public viewing of the body will be Saturday, May 16, 2020 one hour prior to the service at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11 AM at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Robert Lee Reynolds was born on August 23, 1945 to the late L.B. Jack Reynolds and Jewel Reynolds. He was born and raised in the Henry County area.
Robert confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama. He later was affiliated with Patterson Street Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.
Robert was a 1965 graduate of Headland Northside High School. Afterwards, he furthered his education at Alabama A&M University, Huntsville; where he received his Bachelor's Degree.
Robert then pursued a professional basketball career and played several years under the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). He played for several countries, including: Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Spain.
Upon returning to the states, he began teaching History and served as basketball coach at the Abbeville Jr. High School. Later, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he taught school and adult education for several years. Robert rounded out his professional employment years - returning home to the wiregrass area; where he became an outstanding car salesman in the Dothan area, ending with Mike Schmitz Automotive Group until retirement.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Ruby Jewel Reynolds.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: Jenara Reynolds of Atlanta, Georgia and Robbie Reynolds of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister: Gladys R. Brown of Dothan, Alabama; a beloved niece and two nephews: Debra (Edward) Brown of Dothan, Alabama, Stevie (Patricia) Jones of Dothan, Alabama and Stanley Jones of Dothan, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
