Mr. Robert Glanton, age 71, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Monday, December 27, 2021. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 2:00 PM at the St. Michael AME Church Cemetery, 7736 County Road 54, Clopton, Alabama 36317; under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".
Robert Earl Glanton was born in Dothan, Alabama on February 26, 1950, to Eva Jewel Robinson-Glanton and the late Dan Glanton, Sr.
During his youth, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and cooking. He was a graduate of Carver High School, in Dothan, Alabama, Class of 1969.
In his early adulthood, Robert moved to Orange, New Jersey, where he worked as a Chef and pursued his passion of freelance photography. Here is where he met his wife: Leatrice A. Hawthorne. Following their marriage, they went on to have two daughters: Carlie Brooke Glanton and Shannon Rae Glanton.
Robert departed this life on December 27, 2021, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife of 48 years: Leatrice A. Glanton of Jacksonville, Florida; mother: Eva Jewel Glanton of Dothan, Alabama; three daughters: Precious Lee (Michael), Carli B. Shabazz (Abdul), Shannon R. Glanton; grandchildren: Michael Lee, Jr. (Christianna), Christopher Lee, Aaliyah Muhammad, and Carter Shabazz; brother: Dan Glanton, Jr. (Fedora); sisters: Melrose Parker, Carrie Hodge, Bernice Moore, Jewel Salter (Fred), Dorothy White (David); aunt: Billie Jean Smith; uncle: David Miller all of Dothan, Alabama; special friends: Jerome Mays, Booker Council and William Melvin; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
