Robert Edwards

Mr. Robert Edwards, age 82, Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 10:00 AM at the Ross Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery in Hurtsboro, AL. 

 Robert James Edwards, was born January 31, 1938 in Hurtsboro, Alabama to the late Maude Simmons Edwards and the late Howard C. Edwards.

 He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a graduate of Russell County Training School in Hurtsboro, AL. He moved to East Chicago, IL in 1952, returned to Alabama in 1954. He completed High School and returned to IN in 1956. He completed his medical study at St. Catherine School of Nursing.

Later he served in the US Army. He joined the Ross Chapel AME Zion Church in 1986. He was employed at Bullock County Hospital for thirteen years, Allen Funeral Home for numbers of years and was employed at Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary as a office manager until his health failed.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Thelma Marks, William Edwards, Willie James Edward, Clyde Edwards Daniel.

 Mr. Robert passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

 He leaves to cherish his precious memories one daughter: Cheryl Denise Davis; one brother: Henry J. Edwards; cousins: Glady Williams, Betty Allen, Debora Berry, Ricky Banks, Tony Banks, Kenneth Preston, Maudie Hardy; three nephews: Henry Marks, Jr., Leonard Marks, William Edwards, Jr.; three devoted cousins: Betty Allen, Beverly Allen, Beverly Bridgemon and Kenneth Preston  a special friends: Jermaine Watts, Dean Scott, Eddie Davis, Willie C. Turner, Michael Thompson, William and Angie Miles; and Carolyn Parrish and the staff of Scott’s Chapel Hill Mortuary of Dothan and Ozark, Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends.
