Robert L. Copeland, a beloved resident of Ariton, Alabama, God called him home to eternal rest at the age of 78 on April 23, 2025. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Robert's life was a testament to love, dedication, and craftsmanship. He shared 53 wonderful years with his cherished wife, Gloria B. Copeland (née Brackin), creating a beautiful family and a life filled with love and laughter.
Born and raised in Ariton, Robert attended DA Smith High School in Ozark, Alabama, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work and integrity. As a master brick mason, his skilled hands crafted structures that will stand the test of time, much like the legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
Robert was also an avid hunter and a true lover of the outdoors. He found joy and peace in nature, cherishing every moment spent in the woods. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family and community.
After residing in Ozark for 21 years, Robert returned to his hometown, where he continued to make lasting memories with family and friends. His warm spirit, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be profoundly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents—Tellis and Addie Lee Copeland; and sisters— Mildred and Helen. Mr. Copeland is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Gloria; children: Rhondrea Copeland, Bryant Copeland, Maurice (Audrea) Copeland, and Carolyn Haslam; two grandchildren: Ariana Haslam and Wesley Haslam; two sisters: Georgia Rhymes and Catherine Caster; In-laws: Evera Smith, Clefornia Salters (Jessie); Barbara Brackins, Tellis Copeland, and Sherry Brackins; a host of family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
His legacy of love, craftsmanship, and passion for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
