Rickey Lewis Hemphill a man of honor, respect, love, kindness, loyalty and hard working whose funny and passionate spirit, touched the lives of many people.
Rickey Lewis Hemphill always put his family first and was very supportive, loving and responsible. A man that his family could always depend on. Rickey was the rock in his family. He passed away peacefully September 27, 2025 in his hometown of Dothan Alabama. Born on October 2, 1960 to the late Joann Hemphill Robinson.
Mr. Hemphill’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family. Rickey graduated from Dothan High School. He was employed with the Dothan City School for 34 years until his retirement.
Rickey Lewis Hemphill was preceded in death by his parent Joann H. Robinson, grandparent Meller Mae Hemphill; Mother-in-law Mabel Austin; Sister and brother-in-law: Jackie Ward, Linda Williams, Mabel Hill, Jerome “Allstate” Austin, John Thomas and Jimmy Austin.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Mayola “Princess” Hemphill; Children - Sasha Austin, Palandis (Mary) Drayton, Shankeria (Kendrick “Moye”) Austin, Bianca Austin, Shimoda Austin; Grandchildren - Treunna Austin, Omarion Austin, Malaysia Austin, Janasia Austin Springfield, Chaise Hill; Great-grandchildren – Kortielle Austin, JyAsia Smith; Godson - Braylon; Goddaughter - Da’Brecierra Jackson, Sister-in-law; Lesie Austin; Brother-in-law - Robert Ward and a host of nieces and nephews. A special friends: Bill Jackson, Lebron Steward, Kenneth Turner, Pam McNealy, Dwight Gordon, Ben Stewart, Marvis Tony Davis
