Reverend Joe Caldwell Life and Times

Mr. Joe Caldwell, age 84, of Union Springs, Alabama passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 4-6 PM at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Union Springs, Alabama; graveside service will be Sunday, August 29, 2021 2:00 PM at the Perpetual Care Cemetery, Highway 82 East, Union Springs, AL 36089; under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".

Reverend Joe L. Caldwell was born on July 19, 1937 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Deacon Leroy and Sister Ida Bell Caldwell.

Reverend Caldwell accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully. 

He was a hard working man an entrepreneur. He enjoyed fishing and going on long slow rides site seeing. He loved getting his hands dirty and working on cars. He enjoyed seeing his grandkids and great grands. He also enjoyed cooking and baking. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Debbie C. Taylor; one brother: Cody Harris;  two sisters: Mary Dean Livingston and Gertrude Burchs; grandson: Tywon Caldwell Tatum, Sr.; great grandson: Antionne Martinique Caldwell, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife: Lola Caldwell of Springfield, Massachusetts; four daughters: Vivian Caldwell of Union Springs, Alabama, Leona (Timmie Jordan) Tatum of Crestview, Florida, Mary Caldwell of Union Springs, Alabama, Charlotte Caldwell (Andrew) of Springfield, Massachusetts; two sons: Joe Caldwell, Jr. of Union Springs, Alabama and Carlzell Caldwell of Greenville, Alabama; one sister: Charlotte C. (George) Phillips of Union Springs, Alabama; numerous of grandkids, great grands; two great-great grandkids; a special nieces: Luvenia Tatum; two special cousins: Gloria and LeMack; a special Pastor and friend: Tommy Cooper, Sr. and Jessie Disnuite; and his Florida buddy: Mr. L.W.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
