Princess Denise (Nessy) Young

Princess Denise “Nessy” Young was born October 29, 1981 to Jacqueline Young and the late Scottie Starling, Sr.

“Nessy” was born and raised here in Dothan, Alabama. She attended all local schools and advanced her education to Fortis School, where she received her Medical Assistant certification. She was also enrolled at Wallace Community College where she was majoring in Criminal Justice. “Nessy” had a passion for school and learning.

She was employed at the Flavor House for many years. Later she worked at Flowers Hospital as a Phlebotomist until her health began to decline.

Even while dealing with her health situation, “Nessy” was still pushing herself to continue her education.

She was preceded in death by her father, Scottie Starling; her sister: Kizmick Johnson; her maternal grandparents that she was raised by: Jack and Eula Young; two uncles that she was very close to: Ricky and Larry Young.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughters that she loved more than life itself: Tyuana and Ty-Tianna Bryant; her mother: Jacqueline Young all of Dothan, Alabama; bonus dad: Hershey Patterson of Dothan, Alabama; sisters: Felicia Bowick of Dothan, Alabama and LaTondra Starling of Nashville, Tennessee, Taniya Starling, Tyangie Starling, and Virginia Starling all of Palatka, Florida, India Rich, Zora Rich, and Keyeta Rich all of Dothan, Alabama; brother and her best friend, Christopher Young of Dothan, Alabama, and Scottie Starling, Jr., of Palatka, Florida; nieces: Kaydence Bowick, Alexis Johnson both of Dothan, Alabama and Ava Starling of Nashville, Tennessee; nephews: Dre’Quan Lee and Trenton Wade both of Dothan, Alabama; very special great niece: Malaya Bowick; special aunts: Tammie Young and April Young; great aunt: Mamie Jewel Thompkins of Tampa, Florida; special uncles: Jerry Young and Terry Young; very special lil’ cousin: Mariah Glanton; a host of other loving and caring family members and friends.
