Nolie Smith Pujoue was born on November 13, 1932, to Tommie and Daisy Smith. She was born and raised in Slocomb, Alabama, where she spent her entire life living among her family and friends. .
She began her Christian Walk at County Line Missionary Baptist Church. Her final years of Christian service were at New Holy Temple Church of God in Christ.
She was a devoted and diligent woman, lovingly remembered for her exceptional cooking - especially her much-requested butternut cakes. She was employed for 54 years with Harold and Lydianne Merritt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommie and Daisy Smith; husband, Wydell Pujoue; her five sisters: Betty Lou Smith, Annie Mel Stover, Ruth Bryant, Mary Crowder, and Gladys Boykin; one brother, Malcolm Smith; one daughter, Lynn Small; two grandsons, Justin and Aaron Small.
She leaves to cherish her memories her five children: Joe (Bertha) Smith, Martha Andrews, Pokie Lee Craig, Katherine (Jimmie) Richards, and Donnell Pujoue; one brother, Willie (Patricia) Smith; a friend she considered a sister, Altomease Peoples; a dear cousin, Jeanette Davis; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; numerous; bonus children: Tyrone Peoples, Rusty Merritt and Segrid White and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
