Minnie Mosby Life and Times

Mrs. Minnie Mosby, age 85, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020.

Drive through visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10 AM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.

Mother Minnie W. Mosby was born on August 29, 1934, in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late Shelley McLeod and Annie Oliver McLeod.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Hasten Williams on January 9, 1950; to this union, seven children were born.  They reside in Dothan, Alabama.

Mother Mosby relocated to Los Angeles, California in the early 60s.  On May 14, 1987, Mother Mosby remarried Andrew J. Mosby.  She accepted Christ in her life and joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Reginald Pope, where she was a faithful member until she relocated back to Dothan, Alabama in 2001.

Mother Mosby joined Burdeshaw Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wilbur Dawsey.  She was a faithful member, until she became ill.  She loved her church family and really enjoyed Mission Night.

Mother Minnie W. Mosby was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew J. Mosby; parents: Shelley and Annie McLeod; grandson: Aaron Cole; three brothers: Johnnie McLeod, Shelley McLeod and Ruben McLeod; and one sister: Magnolia Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Willie Earl (Melody) Williams of Newton, Germany, James Lamar Williams of Texas, John Robert Williams of Long Beach, California and Travis Jerome Anthony of Los Angeles, California; four daughters: Glenda Ruben Jennings of Los Angeles, California, Bennie Ruth (Dewayne) Jones of California, Janice Luvern (Tyrone) McGhee of Lancaster, California and Juanita (Terry) Mitchell of Palm Dale, California; fourteen grandchildren and one special grandchild: Ronneshia Thomas; twenty-six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one loving sister: Daisy M. Tiller of Dothan, Alabama; one special niece: JaShante Brackins; one special nephew: Jay'Carter Rich and a special cousin: Ola Mae Moore; her Burdeshaw Missionary Baptist Church family and also her Now Faith Ministry Family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
