Minister Marcus James Life and Times

At God’s appointed time Marcus Ramon James was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 31, 1986. The loving son of Ruby Lynn James and Charles Fripp.

Marcus was a loving son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend. Marcus was 6 months old when his mom dedicated her life to God becoming saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled. All of this was done under a Gospel Tent under the leadership of Apostle Frank Mobley Sr. and from that time Marcus was reared in the church. At the age of one year old Marcus was christened at Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance, Apostle Idell Cheever performing the ceremony. He grew up under the ministry of Apostle Frank Mobley Sr. where he also became saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled at an early age, and receiving spiritual education based on biblical teaching. After the homegoing of Apostle Mobley, Marcus continued to be a dedicated member of Miracle Evangelistic Church Of God under the leadership of his mom Overseer Ruby James. Marcus was a faithful member of the church accepting the call of God as Minister James in 2021. He was a very good speaker with the gifts of the spirit being present in his life. He had lots of wisdom, knowledge and understanding, He was one that could give good spiritual counseling when needed. He was the church Key board player (self-taught) and a very good drummer. He was also the key board player New Jerusalem Church, with Pastor Jocquett Carroll until his homegoing. Marcus was a “die-hard” Philadelphia Eagles fan, and “Marc The Chef” was a great cook.

Marcus received his early education in Philadelphia, PA, Houston, and Henry County schools. He was a 2004 graduate of Dothan High School.

Marcus started in the labor force as soon as he could working serval jobs throughout his lifetime, helping meet the needs of his household. Marcus’ last place of employment was Jackson Correctional Institute in Malone, Florida, working as a Correctional Officer until his health would not allow him to continue working.

At God’s appointed time, November 25, 2024, the Lord called His servant, Minister Marcus Ramon James home. From labor to eternal rest, peace, and reward.

Marcus will always have a special place in the heart of his mother Overseer Ruby James, and his father Charles Fripp. Cherishing Marcus’ precious memories are his sisters: Kyoko Smith (Lary), Tanisha Fripp, Sharnita Midgett, and Charlene Midgett. His brothers: Jason Fripp (Stephanie Shockley), Curishio Raun Fripp, Stephon Byng, and James Grier (Nikemia). His God children: Jasmine, Zaniyah (Z Baby), Jailyn, and Isaiah. A best friend since 3rd grade, David Wheat (Stephanie). A close friend since 2007, Courtney Robinson; as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
