Michael "Big Mike" Leroy Miller

Mr. Michael Leroy Miller, affectionately known as "Big Mike", passed away on October 21, 2023 in Dothan, Alabama. Born in Columbia, Alabama on November 6, 1970, Michael was a beacon of love and warmth to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Michael was a proud graduate of Columbia High School, Class of 1989. Following graduation, he served his country with dedication and honor in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. His commitment to service and his unwavering patriotism were testaments to his strong character and the principles he held dear.

A man of faith, Michael was baptized at an early age at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. His faith was an essential part of his life, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his journey. Known for his contagious smile and extremely warm spirit, Michael's presence was a joy to all. His interests were diverse and reflected his passionate nature. His love for life was infectious, and he had the unique ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Munford Miller, his stepfather, E.B. Washington, and his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by and will be forever remembered by his devoted mother, Elouise Washington of Headland, Alabama. His loving memory will also live on through his sisters, Tenecia Miller of Dothan, Alabama, Tonyetta Vickers (Eric) of Headland, Alabama, and Kendra Washington of Kinsey, Alabama; his stepsister, Eleanor Barber of Kinsey, Alabama and his brother, Patrick Blackmon of Gordon, Alabama. Michael's spirit will continue to shine in the lives of his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His special bond with his devoted friend, Latonia Williams of Jacksonville, Florida, will forever be cherished.
