Merlene Rowe Potter was affectionately known as “Mutt” was born on July 30, 1936 to the late Walter Rowe and the late Louise Davis Rowe in Gordon, Alabama.
She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Antioch Baptist Church in Gordon, Alabama. Merlene received her education from Houston County and graduated from Ashford High School in Ashford, Alabama. She later married the love of her life Willie J. Potter of Seminole County, Georgia on December 1958.
She loved gardening and working with flowers. She was soft spoken loved children and was always giving.
On Thursday, October 24, 2024 she answered a soft voice that said come home.
Merlene was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Deacon Willie Fred Davis; her husband: Willie J. Potter; special nephew: Lenwood Irving, Jr..
She leaves to cherish her memories her nephew: Ted Rivers; her aunts and uncles: Daisy Griggs, Daisy Davis Clark, Teana Idell Thomas, Irene D. Williams, Betty Miller, Henry Davis, Roy Davis and Eddie B. Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends including her church members.
