Mary Alice Tharpe

Mrs. Mary Tharpe, age 85, of Newville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Drive through viewing will be Monday, July 26, 2021 4--6 PM at the funeral home; funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Baptist Church in Abbeville, AL; burial will be follow at the Church Cemetery.

The light shined bright in the life of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel and Alice Morrison on July 10, 1936 with a beautiful baby girl Mary Alice Morrison the oldest of her siblings.

 Along her life journey she attended Henry County Training School and attended New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She united with Raymond Tharpe and became a loyal and faithful member of Balkum Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and a devoted choir member. To this union he brought along with him five children, whom she loved and cherished as her own.

 Later in life she joined St. Peter Baptist Church Abbeville, Al where she was a member until 
she was called home.

  She was preceded in death by her siblings Ellis Morrison, Railey Morrison, Clara Glanton, Oza Daniels, Ezekiel (Annie) Morrison Jr. and one daughter, Loretta Hogan.
  
She leaves to cherish her memory, her spouse: Raymond Tharpe; four children: Cosper (Linda) Tharpe of Headland, AL, Douglas (Mary Ann) Tharpe of Abbeville, AL, Lucinda (James) Gamble of Pace, Fl, and Naomi (Curtis) Coachman of Dothan, A;L One loving brother Tommy (Bessie B) Morrison Sr. of Abbeville, Al; two  loving sisters: Willie Mae Morrison of Abbeville, AL and Ella Morrison of Newville, AL; two loving cousins whom she loved as her sisters, Queen (Robert) Mills of Abbeville, Al, and Mary Dell (J.T.) Flucker of Headland, AL; one brother-in-law: Roy Daniels; six  grandchildren one great grand child and a host of nieces, 
nephews, relatives and friends.
