Mary Griffin

Ms. Mary Griffin of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 95.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Sardis Baptist Church; 11901 Fortner Street, Dothan, Alabama 36305 with burial immediately following in the Church's Cemetery under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care."

Ms. Mary Aline Pugh was born in Enterprise,  Alabama on May 1, 1927 to the late Cicero Pugh, Sr. and Velma Copeland Pugh. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie James Griffin in 1947 and settled in Dothan, Alabama.

Mrs. Mary lovingly known as Ms. Lena has a huge passion for the Lord and was a faithful stewardess and a longtime member of Sardis   Baptist Church. She was thoroughly committed to her Church and its leadership of Sardis Baptist Church. She enjoyed  family and fishing.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Mrs. Mary Aline Pugh, a loving mother and Grandmother departed this life at the age of 95.

Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her father: Cicero Pugh, Sr.; mother: Velma Copeland Pugh;   husband: Willie James Griffin; children: Gloria Jean Griffin, Velma Mae Griffin, Willie Gene Muhammad Griffin, Inez Griffin, Rhonda Griffin, Janice Griffin; grandchildren: Charles T. Bryant and Shaquonda S. Griffin; great-grandchild: Dominiqua D. Bryant;   siblings: Charles Preston Pugh, James Arthur Pugh, Mabeliene Johnson, Cicero Pugh, Jr.; sons-in-law: David Jackson, Willie Lee Warren. She leaves to cherish her memories, five loving children: Wille Fred (Tracy) Griffin, Mary Bryant, Lois Warren, Doris Griffin., Wanda Griffin; 23 grandkids and 29 great-grandkids, a sister-in-law: Annie Jewell Pugh; special friends: Mrs. Willie B. Turner and Celie Smith, a host of nieces, nephews and Church Family.
