Mary Frances Robinson Reynolds, a lifetime resident of Headland, Alabama was born on March 29, 1940 to the late Jabo Robinson and the late Inez Marshall Robinson. She departed this earthly life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 15, 2026. Mary attended the Headland Colored High School. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and began utilizing her gifts doing God’s work. She lived a life by strength, class, faith and devotion to her family and serving the communities of Henry, Barbour and Quitman Counties.
Mary Frances Reynolds, affectionately known as “Mama Mary” to everyone she met, had a nurturing spirit that allowed her to be a mentor and have a positive influence to all she came across. She was the founder of the Heavenly Choir, member of the Heavenly Five and manager to the Female Chorus for many years. Mary was very passionate about helping others during her employment with Christian Benevolent and Booker T. Washington Insurance Companies.
Mary was the co-owner of M&M Fashions, one of the first Black –Owned businesses in Headland, Alabama. She was the director of the Community Action Center of Abbeville, Alabama, employed at Farrell and Tharpe Daycare Center and later retired from the Headland Headstart where she was a foster grandparent.
Mary is preceded in death by her grandson Zachery Smith; husband, L. B. Reynolds; brother Perry Clyde Robinson; and nephew Perry Robinson.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: Five devoted children, Erwin (Aletha) Reynolds of Montgomery, AL; Shenia (Paul) Smith of Dothan, AL; Arlisa Reynolds, Dothan, AL; LaKeshia (Charles) Holloway, Dothan, AL; and Mareno (Jasmine) Reynolds, Chelsea, AL; brother, Jeremiah Robinson Sr, Jacksonville, AL; sisters Margie (Frank) Campbell, Dothan, AL; and Cassundra Scovil, Headland, AL; a bonus sister, Evie Lou McDaniel, Headland, AL; Brother-in-law Truman (Elaine) Reynolds, Bessemer, AL; Sisters-in-law, Lora Skipper, Dothan, AL; Janice McNealy, Ann McDaniel, Sue Reynolds all of Irvington, NJ; grandchildren Shenetta Walker McQueen, Headland, AL; Jaron Reynolds, Denver, CO; Adria Reynolds, Atlanta, GA; Paul and Gary Walker, Montez, Jamarcus, Jasmine and Kiara Reynolds all of Dothan, AL; A special niece, Cathy McQueen; a special cousin/sister Genall Wilson, Dothan, AL; 16 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mama Mary had many godchildren that she loved dearly.
