Mary B. Finch

Mrs. Mary Finch, age 91, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11 AM at Northview Christian Church.

Burial will immediately follow the service at St. John Cemetey in Gordon, Alabama, 5529 Alabama 95 Gordon, Alabama 36343

Mary B. Finch was born September 15, 1928 to the late Cora Lou Bowden and the late John Bowden in Gordon, Alabama.  She was educated in the Gordon, Alabama school system.

As a teenager Mary moved to New York, where she was employed at Woolsworth for many years.  Mary also worked for Lerner's Departmemnt store in the corporate office until her retirement.

In 1993, Mary moved to Dothan, Alabama making it her resting place until her call to "Glory" on Thursday, March 12, 2020.  She fought a good fight and kept the faith.

Mary was the rock of her family.  Her personality was engaging, making time with her memorable and fun.  She mostly expressed her outspoken and humerous side "telling it how it is".

Mary was loved by all she came across.  She was a loving and spiritual person, that was very family oriented.  Mary was loyal to her family.  She loved her children, her grands and great grands.  She also loved her church family (NCC).

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Cora Lou Bowden and John Bowden; three sons: John, Charles and David; husband: Benny E. Lee, Sr. and her special friend: Frank Phillips.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons: Benny E. Lee and Robert Lee; grandchildren: Gary Pender (Anna Rose), David Lee, Jr., Nakia Prescod (Ronald), Macyunah and Anthony Lee; great grandkids: Niaja, Shanya, Skylar and Davinae; God daughter: Laverne Bradley and many daughters (church); a host of family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all.
