Mark Skipper

Mr. Mark Skipper, age 66, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Friday, December 3, 2021.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 one hour prior to the service.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1 PM at Georgette L. Scott Memorial Chapel, 814 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.

Mark Skipper was born August 30, 1955, in Donalsonville, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Skipper.  He attended Madride Elementary School, where he met and created friendships that lasted all his life.  He moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he met Carol Tanskley; from this union came a son.  

Mark was preceded in death by his father: J.P. Skipper; mother: Rosie Skipper; sister: Betty Ann Skipper; brothers: Mack Skipper, Albert Skipper, James Skipper, and Charles (Big C) Skipper; and brother-in-law: Nathan Salter.

He leaves to cherish his memories, son: James (Aleeya) Tanksley of Newark, New Jersey; son's brothers: Kareem Tanksley and Hersey Tanksley both of Savannah, Georgia; two brothers: Thomas Skipper of Dothan, Alabama and Reuben (Audri) Skipper of Placentia, California; five sisters: Betty (Willie) Ward of Atlanta, Georgia, Daisy (Russel) Lambeth of Seattle, Washington, Ethel (Nathan) Skipper of Headland, Alabama, Sarah Butler, and Colmer (Bob) Skipper of Dothan, Alabama; three sisters-in-law: Audrianne Bridges-Skipper, Cassandra Skipper and Stella Mae Skipper; special friends: Earnest McNealy, Wayne (Essie) Bryant, Bobbie Grider, Precious, Tammy Rayland and Belinda; special nieces: Dajilia (AKA Chocolate) Lakeshia Cummings and Sally; special aunties: May Sewell, Daisy Sewell, and Queen Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
