Margaret Nelson Life and Times

Mrs. Margaret Nelson, age 81, of Ozark, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020; visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2020 4-6 PM at the funeral home; funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 11 AM at the J.L. Trawick Memorial Chapel, 1048 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Ozark, Alabama; under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".

 

Margaret Stuckey was born on February 14, 1939 in Skipperville, Alabama to Lemmie Owens and Catherine Stuckey.

Mother Margaret Ann Nelson was a faithful member of the Believers in Christ Tabernacle Church Family and will be greatly missed.

Margaret married Otis McCray at a young age and the two of them moved to Florida. To this union a son, Otis, and daughter, Marilyn were born. She later met and married Ira Nelson, who was a devoted husband to the very end.

Margaret was a loving, caring and generous woman to all those she came in contact with an enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother: Gladys Owens; sisters: Corine Torres, Evelyn Robinson, Gladys Owens and Alma Rene Jones; brothers: Earl Thomas, Dale Thomas and Daniel Owens.

She left to cherish her memories are a loving husband: Ira Nelson; son: Otis (Albertha) McCray, Sr.; daughter: Marilyn McCray; grandsons: Otis McCray, Jr., Willie (Teshlet) Jackson, and Titus (Debra) McCray; granddaughters: LaShanda Miller, Sabrina (Tommy) Harrington, Christen (Eric) McCray-Moore and Maya Nelson; brothers: Charles Owens, Lemmie Lee Owens, Jr. and James Sammie Owens; sisters: Ernestine Leggett, Annette Smith, Glenda Thomas, Brenda (Edward) Williams, Mary Lois Smith and Betty Jean LeSuer; stepchildren: Mikie (Thea) Winston, Ira, Jr. and Desiree Nelson; goddaughters: Melissa (Marvin) Wilson, Eva Stuckey, Linda (Walter) Faulks and Catherine (Claude) Donaldson; loving friends: Joanne Alford and Lynn Gatlin; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
