Mamie Feggins Life and Times

On August 4, 1933, God blessed Cauley and Elizabeth Brown with a daughter who would become a blessing to so many people. Mamie Lee Brown was born and raised in Newville, Alabama. Mamie transitioned from earth to glory on Sunday, March 10, 2019.

Mamie was educated at the Henry County Training Center in Abbeville, Alabama. Mamie was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served faithfully as an usher, secretary of the usher's board and choir member until her health declined. Mamie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served Him faithfully until she was called home to receive her crown. Mamie was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mamie met Rufus Feggins and the two were joined in holy matrimony on December 18, 1955. Their union was blessed by the birth of their children, Myron and Russell; who brought joy and delight to her life.

Mamie worked for the Henry County School system as a teacher with special needs as well as a bus driver. Mamie enjoyed fishing, sewing and shopping. Mamie loved helping other people; she was known to take care of the sick and shut in by cooking and cleaning for them.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents: Cauley and Elizabeth Brown; her siblings: Ezell Brown, Artist Brown, Georgia Mae Trawick, and Donald Brown; and her son: Russell Feggins.

Mamie Feggins was loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves to rejoice and celebrate her life, her husband of 63 years: Deacon Rufus Feggins; her son: Pastor Myron (Helen) Feggins, Sr. of Warner Robins, GA; her daughter-in-law: Shelia Feggins of Newville, AL; her grandchildren: Shalitha (Derman) Lawrence of Atlanta, GA, Myron Feggins, Jr. of Warner Robins, GA, Bryant Feggins of Warner Robins, GA, and Brandon Feggins of Dothan, AL; her great grandchildren: Kenneth, Blake, Caden, Maxwell, Kristopher and Brandon, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
