LaTanya Teresa Crews

Ms. LaTanya Crews, age 51, of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 12 PM at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 808 Lenox Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.

LaTanya was born January 18, 1970, in Newark, New Jersey, to the union of Dolan Koonce, Jr. and Gwendolyn Moore-Koonce. 

Tanya attended private Catholic school during her early years.  She, then, attended Vallsburg High School.  Later, to further her education, she attended Wallace Community College.  She was enrolled in the Business Administration Bachelor's Program at University of Phoenix at the time of her passing.

Latanya dedicated most of her professional career to being a customer service representative.  She was a call center agent for Coach.  She also started her own business called AD&D Technologies; which represented her love for her three grandchildren: Averie, DaShaun and DaJuan. 

At an early age, Tanya developed her own bond with the Lord and gave her life to Christ.  She always had an uplifting song in her heart no matter the situation.  She was a straight shooter and no chaser.  She was very outspoken and would tell it like it is!   Tanya was not afraid to express herself!  Her contagious smile and captivating eyes could pick anybody up on a bad day.  Those traits were the pillars of her beauty.  As we called her SEXY!  She was that and so much more!

LaTanya was an active member of the Elks Temple #566, in Dothan, Alabama, for the past years.

LaTanya was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Dolan (Lena) and Louise Koonce; and her maternal grandparents: Floyd (Clarice) Beacham and Louise Moore Ingram (Joshua).

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving son: Isiah Jamal Turner (Ambernique) and her daughter: Adrienne McKnight; three grandchildren: DaShaun Young, DaJuan Young and Averie SaNora Turner; devoted parents: Dolan and Gwendolyn Moore-Koonce; other mother: Synette Moore-Parker; along with two brothers: Mario Jones (Caroline) and Leman B. Koonce; sister: Tyla Trawqick and two sissys: Lakicha Moore and Tajmikas Moore-Yarabough; special family: Sharon Dixon, Qama Moore and Shaquan Walker; special friends: Alvin Facion and Dellian Long; she also leaves behind six aunts and three uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
