Kendell Kirkland, age 23, of Newville, Alabama passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Public visitation will be Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Center Missionary Baptist Church, 4344 Highway 173 Newville, Alabama.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1 PM at Center Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kendell Lamar Kirkland, affectionately known as K. Kirk, was born on September 5, 1996 to Joseph Kirkland and LaBrenda McGlon.
Kendell was a 2015 graduate of Headland High School, where he was a member of the football and basketball teams. Kendell attended Alabama State University for one year, and also coached city league baseball and basketball in Headland, Alabama.
Kendell was charismatic, intelligent, confident and athletic. He had a broad smile that would light up any room. Quiet and reserved, Kendell was well-liked and had many friends who highly respected him.
Kendell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Robert and Mary Lizzie Spann; and paternal grandfather: Johnnie Frank Kirkland.
Kendell will be missed everyday by his father: Joseph Kirkland and Mother: LaBrenda McGlon; his brother: Kuame McGlon (Jametris Severson); sister: Khadijah Kirkland; nephew and niece: Kasen and Kenlee McGlon; his paternal grandmother: Mary J. Kirkland, several uncles, aunts and cousins. He also leaves special friends: Karissa and Kyliee Poke, Brandon Feggins, Scotty Baker, Aaron Brown and Jimmy Spann.
