Deacon Kelvin Earl Williams, was born on June 12, 1956, to the late Samuel H. and Katie Bell Williams. He entered eternal rest on November 18, 2024.
Kelvin was a proud graduate of Cottonwood High School and went on to build a life that inspired all who knew him. A dedicated and hardworking man, Kelvin spent much of his career as a truck driver (35 years), navigating the roads with skills and commitment. He found joy in mentoring others, teaching them the art of trucking, and guiding them to obtain their Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL). His wisdom and encouragement left a lasting impact on his students and colleagues.
Beyond his career, Kelvin’s true treasure was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a supportive brother, and a cherished friend. His legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Kelvin was a Deacon at Mt. Zion P.B. Church, Quincy Florida, where his deep commitment to faith and service was evident in everything he did. He touched countless lives with his generosity and humility, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer wise counsel. He was also a member of the church choir, finding joy in singing praises to God.
Kelvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sharon Williams; his children: Kelly Williams (Birmingham, Alabama), Kelvin E. Williams Jr. (Dothan, Alabama), and Kiara Williams (Bartlett, Tennessee); three grandchildren: Kadasjah Page, Kaylah Williams and Kendall Myhand; one great grandchild: Zi'Aire Ingram; his siblings: Hattie (Malvin) Brown, Ellenwood, GA; Elder Andrew (Frances) Williams, Gordon, AL; Samuel (Le'venia) Williams, Gordon, AL, and Brenda (William) Powell, Ellenwood, GA; his sisters-in-law: Alfreda Snell, Birmingham, AL; Cynthia (Sam) Shingles Tallahassee, FL and Rolanda (Robert) Jackson, Quincy, FL; brothers-in-law: Willie Gipson Charleston, SC and Curtis McCray, Quincy, FL; aunts: Mother Joyce Whitehurst, Tampa, FL; Callie Mae Williams, Tampa, FL; and Zula Felder, Miami, FL; his uncle, Grady Whitehurst, Enterprise, AL; his godsons: Jamie Jackson (Shandreka) and Daveion Rittman (Quincy, FL); his nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a host of family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel H. and Katie Bell Williams.
