Katie Williams Life and Times

Katie B. Williams was born in the summer and it was on Thursday, July 25, 1929 to Grady Walker Whitehurst and Molanie Wilson Whitehurst. She was the fourth child. Katie grew up and went to Zoe School for her education. She was brought up in Triumph Kingdom of God in Christ Church.

As time passed, Katie then made the bold decision to marry Samuel Hezekiah Williams on Saturday, October 29, 1949. To this union were five children.

At an early age her Christian experience began at Triumph Kingdom of God in Christ and at Williams Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, Stewardess and a Church Mother.

Katie B. Williams leaves to cherish her memories five children: Hattie (Malvin) Brown of Ellenwood, Georgia, Elder Andrew (Frances) Williams of Gordon, Alabama, Elder Samuel (Luvenia) Williams of Dothan, Alabama, Deacon Kelvin (Sharon) Williams of Quincy, Florida and Brenda (William) Powell of Ellenwood, Georgia; one sister: Callie Mae (Mike-deceased) Williams of Tampa, Florida; one brother: the Reverend Grady W. Whitehurst; a sister-in-law: Zula (Willie – deceased) Felder of Miami, Florida; Katie B. Williams leaves to mourn grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great Grandchildren (a legacy of 5 generations), nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Benjamin “Cornelius” Whitehurst, James Whitehurst, Elder Jacob (Marie) Whitehurst, Elder Hosea (Gloria) Whitehurst, Elder Isaac (Joyce) Whitehurst and Rubben (Mozell) Whitehurst; sisters: Evelyn (Joe Willis) Rich and  Lanie M. Brown.
