Mrs. Juliette Anita Lee of Newville, Alabama departed this life on November 30, 2021;
A Celebration of life will be held on December 6, 2021 1:00 PM at Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery, Newville, AL under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care".
Mrs. Juliette Anita Humphrey Lee was born on July 23, 1934, in Newville, Alabama to the parentage of the late Willie Frank and Vera B. Humphrey. Juliette was married to her beloved the late Daniel Lee and to this union one son was born, Daniel Lazare.
At an early age she confessed her love for Christ and joined Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Newville, Alabama. After relocating to Anniston, Alabama she joined 17th Street Baptist Church. She reunited with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church after relocating home to Newville, Alabama.
Juliette earned her bachelor degree from Alabama State University, Montgomery, Alabama. She was employed by the Anniston City School System where she impacted her students through her love of education and discipline.
She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and the Order of Easter Star, Lookwell Chapter #219. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Juliette also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for family and friends, and shopping. Juliette touched the lives of many with her words, compassion, and kindness. She was a petite lady with an enormous heart. Her love for her husband, son, and sister was immense.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Gloria Ann Horne and James Willis Humphrey.
Juliette departed this life on November 30, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory one devoted son: Daniel Lee; one sister: Wilbur H. McKay; nieces: Sandra Abney, Shalonda M. (Richard) Cass, Jocelyn (Jessie) McAlpine, Tavion (Luther) Johnson, and London Cass; nephews: Kenneth Humphrey, Bruce Humphrey, James Humphrey, Darryl Humphrey, Mickey Horne, Michael Horne, Jordan Abney, Makylen Horne, and Austin Boyd; devoted family friends: Rickey Allen, Patricia Allen, LaMont Lewis, Joe Fain, Sherri and Vivian Johnson, and Annie R. Russ; two special friends: Lois Glover and Sygrid Beard; and a host of other relatives and friends.
