Joyce McCloud Fluker went home to rest with our LORD on August 7, 2025. She was born November 21,1947, in Abbeville, AL to Johnny Lee and Loretta Reynolds McCloud.
She was baby sister to John Ed McCloud Sr., B.C. McCloud, and Carl McCloud, all of whom went home before her.
In Joyce's personal relationship with Christ, she thanked Him daily in prayer right up to her very last moments here. She worshipped with her brothers and sisters at Balkum Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Brown's Crossroads, AL. She was baptised there and went on to serve as a Deaconess and a devoted member of the choir. It was a joy for her to travel around the Wiregrass to sister churches with the choir, doing so until her health would no longer allow.
Joyce attended school at Henry County Training School until she married. She joined her husband in supporting their family at Warner Manufacturing Company in Dothan, AL, but later moved on to West Point Stevens in Abbeville, AL, where she retired after 30 years. In this retirement, she gained more time to pursue her other interests that revolved around sharing with her family, church and friends. She was a talented seamstress and could turn an ordinary pattern to an absolute work of art. She loved to cook, bake and try new recipes. The holidays will not be the same without the red velvet cake that she shared with us all.
She is cherished and remembered by her husband and favorite dance partner, Franklin Fluker, Sr.; her loving children, Evon Fluker Drake (Roderick) and Franklin Fluker, Jr. (Judene), her wonderful baby sister Robbie Mills (Roy), her beloved grandsons, Broderick Drake, Joseph Drake and Harrison Fluker, and a blessed gathering of family and friends and caregivers.
