Jonathon D. Powell was born August 16, 1991 to his parents Alice Smelly, Opelika, AL and John T. Powell, Dothan, AL. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Jonathon enjoyed his life through traveling and spending time with family, especially his sons whom he adored. Jonathon shared his love between his two children; Brayden and John T. Powell, III.
Prior to his demise, Jonathon was a sandblaster by trade working at Englin Huntington Shipyard, Newport News Virginia. Jonathon Powell was preceded in death by his grandparents. John Thomas Powell, Sr., Valonia Powell, his step-grandmother, Donnie Powell, Uncle Dolphis Powell, and Aunt Jeanette Ardis.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Alice Smelly, Opelika, AL and John T. Powel (Sheila), Dothan, AL., his children and their mothers respectively, Brayden Brooks born to Chassidy Brooks and John T. Powell, II, born to Dajah Hill; his brothers Sedrick L. Shipmen, New Port News, Virginia; Dedric Smelly, Opelika, AL; stepbrothers Sam Ward and Mark ward; his uncles Earnest(Monica) Powell, Dothan, AL; Edward Powell of Mount Meigs, AL; Fredrick Shipman, Birmingham, AL, his aunts, Patricia Shipman, Texas; Annie Bell (Eddie) West; Eddie Lee Powell of Columbia, AL; and Valona (Tracy) Womack of Albany, GA.; and a host of family and friends.
