Johnny Albert Cummings, Jr.

Mr. Johnny Albert Cummings, Jr. of Dothan, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 17, 2022 at the age of 37.

Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Funeral Home.

A Home Going Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Georgette L. Scott's Memorial Chapel; 814 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303 with burial immediately following at Gates of Heaven Cemetery; 2106 Starling Road, Dothan, Alabama 36303 under the direction of the caring staff of Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary "Because We Care."

Johnny Albert Cummings, Jr. was born on April 25, 1985, in Dothan, Alabama.  He was the youngest of two sons born to Johnny Cummings, Sr. and Evelyn Williams Cummings.

Johnny grew up in Dothan, Alabama, on Headland Avenue, where he attended Northview High School.  He attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ at a very young age.  Anyone who knew Johnny knew the love he had for his mother.  His whole life revolved around his sweet beloved mother, whom he loved wholeheartedly, until her departure from this world.  He also shared a special bond with his big brother and only sibling. Johnny was a person with a big heart and anyone who came into his presence was embraced with love.  Johnny was so full of life.  He loved spending time with his family, friends, playing spades, dominos and listening to his favorite music.  Johnny brought so much joy and laughter wherever he went.

Johnny received his wings on June 16, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny Cummings, Sr. and Evelyn Williams Cummings; grandparents: Pauline and Robert McDaniel, J.D. and Hattie Cummings.

He leaves, to cherish his precious memories, his one brother: Albert A. (Toni) Williams; one uncle: Edward A. (Bishop Mattie) Williams; one aunt: Sandra Young; two special nieces: Alayna M. Williams and Edynn G. Williams; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
