Mr. Johnny Baxter, age 73, of Newville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 1 PM at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery.
Johnny affectionately known as "Pike" was born on July 25, 1946 in Newville, Alabama to the union of Homer T. and Ellen Hollis Baxter.
He attended the public school of Newville Rosenwald High School. Johnny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior during his early childhood.
Mr. Baxter departed this earthly life on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 5:30 AM at his home in Newville, Alabama.
On September 24, 1971 Johnny was united in Holy Matrimony to his rib, Irene C. Baxter. To this union, three sons and four daughters were born. They enjoyed blissful years as a family where they resided most of their livesin Newville, Alabama.
Mr. Baxter loved his family and the gift of carpentry embedded within his soul. He enjoyed singing in the Mount Sinai Baptist Church choir. He worked tirelessly in the trade of capentry until his health prevented him from doing an assignment meant for him only.
He was preceded into the arms of our Heavenly Father by his parents: Homer T. and Ellen Hollis Baxter; his loving brothers: Robert and Phillip Baxter; sister: Lalah Motley; sons: Mitchell Baxter and Jonathan Galloway, and his precious daughter: Vicki Baxter.
Mr. Baxter leaves to cherish his legacy and celebrate his precious memories: a phenomenal beautiful wife: Irene C. Baxter; daughter-in-law: Nicole Baxter; sons: Lee Danzey, Christopher L Baxter and Frederick L. Baxter; daughters: Valerie Oliver, Teresa F. Baxter, Carrie D. Baxter, Beverly L. Baxter and Arlonna Galloway; three sisters: Mary B. Hicks, Elnora B. Washington and Daisy B. Glass; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, paternal and maternal relatives, extended family members and friends including special friend: Fannie Jean Halloway.
