Staff Master Sergeant John Damon Glover was born July 7, 1935, in Headland, AL to his loving parents Alfred D. Glover and Eola Christmas- Glover. He was the 4th child of 10 children from this union. He departed this world on July 1, 2026.
He graduated from Headland High school in Headland, Al and immediately went into the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and served for 25 years until retirement as a Staff Master Sergeant.
Upon returning home as a civilian, he became a career as a Life Insurance Salesman. He also worked as a helicopter mechanic at Fort Rucker and he actively served at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church for over 30 years with the finance ministry - he also retired as Headland City councilman after 17 years.
John was known as a very caring giver. A helper to all. Very professional, he loved his church. He was loved by all.
He was proceeded in death by both parents; two sisters - Mary Glover and Joyce Glover McNealey; two brothers - Alfred Glover, Jr and Walter Glover.
John is survived by his four daughters: Shirley Anne Glover, Simone Glover and Sonja Glover all of Amsterdam, Netherlands and Molly Ann Britt of Dothan, AL; two sisters - Patricia (James) Jackson of Newville, AL and Rose Boobie (Michael) Fambro of Hampton, GA and three brothers: Tyrone (Teresa) Glover of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Wendell Glover and Larry (Martha) Glover of Headland, AL; along with a foster brother: Johnny Hollis; grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
