JoAnn Thomas Knight, a retired employee of Dunbarton Corporation after 42 years of service with a total of 5 absences during her tenure.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She gave her life to Christ at an early age when she joined Allen Temple Church of God in Christ, Dothan, Alabama.
JoAnn was born to the late Laudon Thomas, Sr. and Rosa Mae Christmas in Ft. Pierce, Florida on May 13, 1952. She was lovable, giving, humble, and always able to speak her mind. Her love for cooking was evident in the joy she found in feeding her family and friends.
She spent the majority of her early childhood in Dothan, Alabama where she became a graduate of Dothan High School in 1970.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers, Ronald Thomas and Terry Thomas and grandson Torrence L. Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Michael Knight, Sr. (Tena Knight), Dothan, Alabama; her daughters LaShonda Curry, Dothan, Alabama; LaToya Knight, Dothan, Alabama; Trea Pittman (Ruby Pittman), Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister Linda Christmas Garrett, Dothan, Alabama; one brother Laudon Thomas, Jr., Dothan, Alabama; A devoted friend and partner Willie Pittman, Webb, AL. Granddaughters, Zoria Curry, Kaela Knight, Zaele Curry, Dothan, Alabama; Bella Pittman and Brielle Pittman, Charlotte, North Carolina; Grandsons Jordan Neal (Kyria Neal), LaDarius Knight, Michael Knight, II, Ernest Williams, Raynard (RJ) Freeman, special family friend, Kip Curry, all of Dothan, Alabama; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
