Jessie Lewis

Mr. Jessie Lewis, age 69, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Drive through visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2021 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1 PM at Gates of Heaven Cemetery. 

Jessie Lewis was born to the late Ralph and Dixie Lewis on December 29, 1951, in Escambia County.  Jessie Lewis was dedicated to the ministries by helping others appreciate the word of God.  He was one of Jehovah witnesses and dedicated his life in learning and teaching Jehovah's word.  Jessie loved his dog Mike Mike and loved to fish.  He also enjoyed driving around from house to house visiting his loved ones.

Jessie was baptized on July 9, 2011. He has served Jehovah most of his life and enjoyed going to the meetings and reading his Bible. Jessie was very humble and loved to make people laugh.  

Jessie passed away due to a long fight with his illness, on July 21, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Dixie Lewis; two sisters: Sandra Lewis and Diane Smith; and one brother: Anthony DeWayne Lewis.

Jessie is survived by his five children: Tony Hawkins, Pamela Lewis, Dewanna Lewis, Adrienne (Kenneth) White, and Jessie Lewis, Jr. all of Dothan, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren: LaKendra Hawkins, Tony Hawkins, Jr., Tariqu Hawkins, Tyquan Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Jamorris Lewis, Cashayla Lewis, ShaKemmia Cummings, Jaquavion Lewis, Arianna White, Keyon White, Kailee Lopez, Tarajia Lewis and Titionne Lewis; three brothers: Edward (Ernestine) Lewis of Dothan, Alabama, Jackie (Shirley) Lewis, and Jimmy Lewis; two sisters: Barbara Hawkins of Headland, Alabama and Betty (Bobby) Spencer of Eufaula, Alabama; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
