Mr. Jermaine Lamar Flagg departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the age of 41.
Jermaine Lamar Flagg was born into a home surrounded by Godliness and love on July 16,1981 in Newark, New Jersey to Helen Flagg and the late Albert Flagg, Sr.
At an early age Sergeant Flagg attended Mount Sinai Pentecostal Church and later accepted Christ at Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.
He received his early education in the Dothan City schools and graduated from Northview High School, Class of 2000. He continued his post-secondary studies at Huston-Tillotson University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science.
Sergeant Flagg affectionately known as “Mumu, Mu-ski, Mu and Star” at the age of 18 made the decision to serve his country and joined the United States Navy and later joined the United States Army Reserved. Sergeant Flagg the proud dual service veteran worked as a Financial Management Technician (MOS 36 B). Through his 22-year tenure in the military Sergeant Flagg received his “Army Commendation Medal/USN Commendation Medal/Meritorious Unit Commendation/USN “E” Ribbon/Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal/Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, USN Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Cont in Block 18” just to name a few.
Thursday March 30th, 2023, Sergeant Jermaine Lamar Flagg peacefully surrendered this earthly life and joined with his redeemer in Eternity in Killeen, Texas surrounded by his loving and endearing mother, brother, and sister-in-love.
The life and love of Sergeant Flagg will forever be embedded in the hearts of his loving and devoted mother: Helen Flagg; his patient committed and loving caregivers who happen to double as his brother and sister-in-law: Demetrius (Cheyenne Davis) Flagg; his maternal grandmother: Jewell McDaniel; siblings: Sharon Flagg-Moore, Albert (To’niya M.) Flagg Jr., both of St. Lucia, Florida, Sebrena Flagg (Steven) Briggs, of Willingboro, New Jersey, Jenifer Flagg, Rosalyn Flagg, both of Newark, New Jersey and Tawanna Flagg, of Enterprise, Alabama; special sibling: Deacon Barber of Dothan, Alabama; aunts: T’Retha Wooten, Dianne Chambers, Peggy Turner, Jacqueline McDaniel, all of Dothan, Alabama; uncles; Jimmy (Mary Jane) Flagg of Newark, New Jersey, YC McDaniel, of Albuquerque New Mexico, Tony (Catherine) McDaniel of Birmingham, Alabama, LaDon T. McDaniel of Fort Worth, Texas; pet: Snow White; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and family.
Jermaine had big dreams and his ideas carried no limits. He was an exceptional and confident leader, liked, loved, and respected by his peers. His family and friends will always remember him for his laughter and love he brought.
