Mrs Jane Alice Thornton, was born February 10, 1941 to the late Gussie Ree Jones and the late Rev. Robert Spencer.
Mrs. Jane attended Henry County Training School in Abbeville, AL and accepted Christ at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church of Shorterville, AL. She was united in Holy Matrimony on August 6, 1960 to the late James (Alfred) F. Thornton. Later they moved to Dothan, Alabama.
Jane's, passion was gardening, fishing, and attending Rose Hill Senior Center and her church. Her love for cooking was evident in the joy she found in feeding her family and friends with collard greens, banana pudding, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, with some of her favorite dishes. She was a member of Dothan Community Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories five children: Phyliss (Cliff) Morrow, James (BoBo) Thornton, Tony Thornton and Willie (Kimberly) Thornton, Charles (Jerlene) Knight.
Her brothers: Charlie (Gladys) Jones and willie (Arlend) Jones Her sister: Dollie (Norman) Whiters, Sister-n-law Eunice Thorn-ton.
Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A host of adopted children in Christ.
She leaves behind Sisters in Christ, Evelyn (Eddie) Hayes and Jolindia (George) Walker. She had many nephew’s and nieces and cousins.
